La Féraude is ideally located for exploring some of the area's attractions. Our estate is located just 20 minutes from downtown Aix-en-Provence, which deserves at least a stopover as the city is full of treasures, places of life and culture remarkable. You are only 40 minutes drive from Cassis, famous for its creeks, just 30 minutes from the Côte Bleue and its beautiful sheltered beaches. Hikers will not be outdone. The Pays d'Aix abounds with signposted itineraries, one of which, the Roy-René path, is right next to our country house.

Aix-en-Provence the essential

Difficult to deprive yourself of a long halt in Aix-en-Provence, one of the emblematic cities of the South of France. Well Named. Just 20 minutes from La Féraude, Aix, spa town, city of history and culture, offers visitors a multitude of places to discover. You will enjoy strolling in the streets of Aix, alive, lined with terraces of cafes and restaurants, dotted with bright fountains and remarkable monuments. You will appreciate visiting the Caumont hotel, the Granet museum or the Cézanne workshop. Student city, Aix-en-Provence is alive day and night.

The Country of Aix

Near our guest house, the Territoires du Pays d’Aix offer great discoveries along charming trails or eco-travels.
Hikes in the Spirit of Sainte-Victoire in the surrounding hinterland (Gardanne, Mimet, Fuveau, Meyreuil, Trets, Peynier and Gréasque) offer magnificent views of Sainte Victoire, member of the "Emblematic Mediterranean Mountains" network. ".  Near Féraude, the Lubéron presents marvelous landscapes of the Provençal countryside of which the lavender fields are the quintessence.

The trail of the Roy-René hunting lodge

Our guest house is located in the valley of the Valabre where hikers and walkers will appreciate the landscapes of the sector at their fair value. La Féraude is just a few steps from the Roy-René hunting lodge, from which a hiking trail is awarded. You will cross beautiful natural areas, on a very short distance.

The Calanques and the Blue Coast

During your stay in La Féraude, don't forget to go to Cassis, which is home to its famous Calanques, protected natural spaces and extraordinary ecological sanctuaries. To visit on foot, by boat or by kayak. To the east of Marseille, the Côte Bleue offers you exceptional panoramas. Departing from Carry-le-Rouet or Sausset-les-Pins, discover sheltered and wild beaches, with the Mediterranean as the horizon. The Calanque de Nolion offers a splendid view of Marseille with the Bonne Mère in the background and with the Calanque d'Ensuès la Redonne, immerse yourself in the spirit of the film "Marius et Jeannette" by Robert Guédiguian.

Marseille

Located just 20 minutes from our charming Residence, the "Phocaean City" can be visited for its Old Port, its iconic beaches, its bohemian streets of Le Panier and its squares bathed in golden light. The Basilica of Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde and the new “MuCEM”, with their breathtaking views, will quickly make you forget that you are in the largest metropolis of the French Mediterranean Basin. 
Don't forget to try the famous "bouillabaisse", emblem of Marseille gastronomy. The Orange Vélodrome welcomes fans of Olympique de Marseille, with the beautiful motto: Straight to the goal!

Avignon

Located an hour's drive from our Guest House, the "City of the Two Popes" is also worth a daytime detour. Avignon is a small town with a large historical and cultural heart, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The famous Avignon Festival, launched by Jean Vilar in 1947, is one of the most important international entertainment events which enlivens the entire city for 3 weeks in July.
The rest of the year, visit the Palais des Papes and stroll through the cobbled streets within the walls, passing by the Pont Saint-Benezet. 

Arles

Arles is the city where Provence and Camargue meet, Roman architecture embraces contemporary architecture, the pedestrian circuits follow the footsteps of Santiago de Compostela and Vincent Van Gogh.
The Dutch painter spent the most productive period of his life here, capturing the essence of Arles and its most beautiful light. Today it is possible to relive the atmosphere of his days through the ambitious "Carrières de Lumières" project in Les Baux de Provence, where his works of art and those of other artists are projected onto the limestone walls of 'an ancient quarry.
